about

A Gift to those who contemplate
As the album took shape I asked Umit Ceyhan to sing a
song which represented the elderly Ibn Battutah back
home in Tangiers after his 37 year odyssey. This melody is
an old Basque tune that Umit has borrowed. He recorded
this in his studio in Toulouse during the 2020 lockdown and
his daughter Amelie plays guitar. It is the voice that defines
the traveller , weary but bearing a gravitas borne of ordeal
and experience.
