about

Law inta kont hina
This song has a huge significance on this album. It is the
last song because it is a dedication to one who has passed
and who has left a huge impact with his passing.
Originally I wrote this melody for Natacha Atlas in early
2019. Natacha was going to follow the theme of the other
female singers and use the words of Ibn Battutah's slave
women. Nick Page had gone to record Natacha in France
and brought the song for her to work on at a future date.
Sadly we lost Nick in May 2021 and it left us devastated.
Natacha rang me to say that she was going to rework the
lyrics to reflect our loss. She is singing in traditional Arabic
and the theme of the song is “If you were here”.
I went to her house in December 2021 to record her voice,
the same day, 2000 miles away, Matthaois Tsahouridis drove
to Athens to record the Pontic Lyra takes. The final piece
of the jigsaw was complete. The recording of this album
has been an epic journey, I hope you enjoy it !
